Wishing you all a restful night’s sleep xxx
Unfurling from the ball of wool I’ve been in over the month of December. A new year, a new beginning.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year, full of exciting possibilities! xxx
My take on the well known quote ‘don’t let the bastards get you down’…I call bull***t! x
My little sister turned 30! What just happened! Seriously though…?
Sleepy Sunday this weekend…Hope you’re all having an equally restful and peaceful time xxx
Services which support vulnerable people (including mental illness) are being cut by the government’s austerity measures. Today there was a march in Bristol to campaign against the proposed cuts to the councils funding for these services. Unfortunately my own mental health wasn’t very well today so I decided to draw the placard I would have chosen to carry if I had been able to make the march!
I have been writing an autobiographical graphic novel about my experience of mental illness and creativity – and have now finished the book! In celebration of this I have published a short extract on my site. You can find it by following the link here: ‘The Butterfly Stage’.
(On a further note – I am going to be giving a presentation of this comic book as well as my other illustration and comic book art in London sometime in the next month. This event will be hosted by the wonderful Laydeez Do Comics! I will post the dates and other details once confirmed on my blog and if you are in the area then it would be great to see you there!)
Always good to see some green! x
Worry cycles and clouds.
Whatever the weather these little macarons never fail to cheer me up! x
Probably would spend all week doing the same if I had the time! x
Sunday = scruffy! x
Although she is two years younger, my sister is a fair bit taller than me!
Have a lovely long Easter weekend everyone! x
Hello again and wishing you all a happy Sunday! I’ve taken a little pause as I’m moving house and the clutter got the better of me.
Spent a lot of time in big checked shirts, sorting, packing and recycling my belongings.
Feeling ready for the next step and will probably be wearing some more big checked shirts in the weeks to come.
Funnily enough today was rather windy and rainy… But there were some really sunny days early this week which made it feel like springtime was on the way!
Have a lovely Sunday everyone x
So easy to take for granted, but a good night’s sleep is pretty wonderful when you need it. x
Strength may be found in the courage to feel emotions that seem unbearable and learning that they can pass… #mentalheatlth #internationalwomensday #hope
A celebration of the humble tea mug x
Forget how much stress is held in the body, not just that which is swirling around in the mind. Really benefited by messing around to some music! Felt like I managed to release some of the inner demons…
It was nice to not be so serious for a bit. Hope you all can find some silliness in today and the week ahead! xxx
Reaching a milestone on a project! A moment of celebration before plunging on again.
Writing and drawing can be a solitary business and I was reminded by a friend that it is important to mark these moments of progress along the way.
Hope everyone else’s creative projects are going well! xxx
Sometimes you need to let something go to begin something new…
Have a lovely Sunday everyone xxx
Taking some time away from the screen this week and getting back to some sketching…
Have a lovely relaxing Sunday everyone! xxx
